Ways to cover the cost

Many families use one or more of the following:

  • Extended health benefits. Employer plans, a parent’s plan, or a health spending account
  • Student health plans. Most college and university student plans offer some coverage for psychotherapy
  • Ontario Autism Program. Core clinical services funding can be used for psychotherapy
  • OSAP Bursary for Students with Disabilities. For eligible post-secondary students, arranged through the campus accessibility office
  • Medical expense tax credit. Psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist may qualify on your Ontario tax return

Coverage depends on your plan or program, so please check with them before booking. I’m happy to provide receipts and any forms you need.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer in-person therapy?

Currently I offer online therapy via a secure video platform. This allows you to attend therapy from wherever you feel most comfortable. I work with clients across Ontario and Western Canada.

What happens in the free consultation?

The consultation is a chance to meet, ask questions, and see if therapy with me feels like a good fit. You can share a bit about what’s been going on and what you’re hoping for. There’s no obligation to book sessions afterwards.

Do you work with parents or families?

My main focus is working individually with teens, students, young adults, and adults. In the Application Season Intensive, parents can join a short check-in at the end, with the student’s agreement. Parents are always welcome to book a consultation if they’re wondering whether therapy could help their child.

How do I know which program is right?

That’s what the free consultation is for. As a rough guide, Career and Academic Direction helps with people making career decisions or students deciding what to study or do next. The Application Season Intensive is for students who are feeling stuck or anxious about applications and need focused support close to deadlines. Academic and Work Burnout helps when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unable to get started. Some clients combine programs, or move into individual therapy afterward.

Do you provide psychological testing?

I don’t diagnose or conduct assessments on my own. I also work as a psychometrist at Giorgio Ilacqua Psychology Professional Corporation, where I administer and score psychoeducational and ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults under the supervision of Dr. Chanelle Salonia, a registered psychologist. Dr. Salonia interprets the results, makes any diagnosis, and writes the report, including educational and accommodation recommendations where appropriate.

If an assessment might help you, I’m happy to talk through your options. I’ll suggest a few providers, which may include the practice where I work, so you can choose the best fit for your family. Whatever you decide, it won’t affect our work together.
